City Slang

City Slang is an international independent record label which was founded in 1990 and acted as a European headquarter for US indie-rock stalwarts like Hole, Sebadoh and Yo La Tengo. Almost 30 years later City Slang’s catalogue has grown to encompass a broad and colourful spectrum of artists of all styles, from all over the world. The back catalogue is rich with musical milestones from the likes of Notwist, Calexico, Lambchop & Tindersticks. But, the future is where it’s at for City Slang with a broad and modern range of eclectic musical styles and genres, such as the thick art metal soundscapes of Anna von Hausswolff, the modular but always emotionally charged tunes of Caribou, the dystopian future folk of Timber Timbre, the Algerian desert grooves of Imarhan, the modernist bass tracks of Noga Erez and a whole load of other talents.
